Rossadrehid Water Treatment Plant Upgrade Initiated with €16 Million Investment
A €16 million upgrade at the Rossadrehid Water Treatment Plant will enhance water supply reliability for 11,500 customers. The overhaul is set to be completed by 2028, addressing longstanding vulnerabilities in the system.

The Rossadrehid Water Treatment Plant in West Tipperary is undergoing a €16 million upgrade, expected to finish by the end of 2028. This project aims to improve water supply reliability for 11,500 homes, farms, and businesses in the area, connected by a 300km water network.
Previous upgrades in the 1990s did not fully resolve the issues, leading to persistent interruptions. Uisce Eireann has emphasized the necessity of maintaining compliant water supply during the complex construction process. The overhaul will involve upgrading major components of the treatment process, necessitating close coordination to minimize disruption.
