Rostec and Chinese Investors Initiate Hydrogen Freight Corridor Between Russia and China
A memorandum between Rostec and a consortium of Chinese investors outlines plans for a hydrogen transport corridor, enhancing logistics in Russia's Far East. This initiative aims to establish hydrogen production facilities and a refueling network to support hydrogen-powered freight vehicles, responding to increasing cross-border transport demands.

Rostec's subsidiary, RT-Business Development Holding, has signed a memorandum with Chinese investors to develop a cross-border hydrogen corridor for freight transport between Russia and China. The project will include hydrogen production facilities and refueling infrastructure along key routes, targeting the mass production of hydrogen-powered trucks designed for efficient long-distance transport in harsh climates.
Russia's Transport Ministry reported that road freight between the two nations exceeded 6 million tons in 2024-2025. The initiative also involves developing blue hydrogen technologies and may lead to the establishment of a joint investment fund to further expand the project. The collaboration with Toptech will focus on constructing modular hydrogen production units.
