Rowan Digital Infrastructure Proposes Sixth Data Center in Temple, Texas
Rowan Digital Infrastructure is advancing plans for The Lasso Building, its sixth data center in Temple, Texas, with a projected investment of $700 million. The proposal is expected to be reviewed by the Planning and Zoning Commission in August 2026 and by the city council in September 2026.

Rowan Digital Infrastructure plans to construct The Lasso Building on approximately 300 acres adjacent to its Project Temple campus in Temple, Texas. If approved, this facility would complete a three-building project initially approved in fall 2025, which represents a total investment of about $1.4 billion and has generated over 500 construction jobs in 2026.
Construction could begin in early 2027 following the approval process. Local opposition group Temple Stands Together is campaigning for local regulations to manage the impact of such developments. Texas Governor Greg Abbott has initiated audits and a moratorium on data center projects, but local opponents argue that more stringent measures are necessary to protect community resources.
