Ørsted Receives First Monopiles for Hornsea 3 Offshore Wind Farm in the UK
Ørsted has received the first six monopiles for the Hornsea 3 Offshore Wind Farm at Teesside, UK. The monopiles, weighing 1,670 tonnes and measuring 90 m in length, were transported from Bilbao, Spain. This marks a significant milestone as the project aims to be the world's largest offshore wind farm, with 197 monopiles planned. Offshore works are set to commence in 2026.

They were transported on the Biglift's CY Interocean II, with support from the Cadeler team. Offshore construction for Hornsea 3 is set to begin in 2026. The project highlights collaboration between Ørsted, Haizea, and Cadeler, showcasing advancements in offshore wind capabilities.
