Saab Proposes Montreal Data Center to Secure Gripen Deal with Canada
Saab has proposed to establish a data center in Montreal contingent upon Canada's purchase of the Gripen fighter jets. This offer arises amidst Canada's reconsideration of its F-35 acquisition, which is estimated to cost around 190 billion SEK.

Saab's proposal involves building a data center in Montreal if Canada opts to purchase the Jas 39 Gripen. The Canadian government is reviewing its contract to acquire 88 F-35 aircraft, a deal valued at approximately 190 billion SEK.
There are indications that Canada may shift its focus towards European fighter jets, with Saab's Gripen previously ranking second to the F-35 in evaluations. This shift in defense procurement could have significant implications for Saab's market position and Canada’s defense strategy.
