Safe Water Network Assures Quality of Water Supply in Ghana Amid National Concerns
Safe Water Network (SWN) Ghana's Country Director, Charles Nimako, confirmed that water from their treatment stations is safe for consumption, sourced from underground and the Volta Lake. During the 16th 'Beyond The Pipe Forum' in Accra, he emphasized the commitment to providing clean water to over two million customers in more than 600 rural communities, despite declining national water quality due to illegal mining. SWN collaborates with the Centre for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) for water quality testing.

Charles Nimako, Country Director for Safe Water Network (SWN) Ghana, stated that their water treatment stations provide safe drinking water sourced from underground and the Volta Lake. This assurance comes amid a national decline in water quality attributed to illegal mining.
At the 16th 'Beyond The Pipe Forum' in Accra, he highlighted SWN's priority to supply clean water to over two million customers across 600 rural communities. The Centre for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has consistently verified the water quality. Nimako called for action against illegal mining to protect water bodies and suggested that stakeholders need to move from ideas to implementation.
