Safran DSI Advances U.S. Space Sector with New Thruster Production and Strategic Realignment
Safran DSI is set to complete its first PPS®X00 thruster by the end of 2026, enhancing its production capabilities in the U.S. The company aims to reinforce its market position in the New Space sector through scalable manufacturing and a strategic focus on three core pillars: Proliferate, Connect, and Maneuver.

Safran DSI's facility in Parker, Colorado, will produce its first PPS®X00 electric propulsion thruster by late 2026, targeting high-volume production for low Earth orbit satellites. The 1kW class thruster is designed for efficiency, with a capacity for 200 units annually.
The strategic shift at Safran DSI encompasses aligning its offerings around mission expansion and secure communications. The company also provides a range of space solutions, including Space Electronics and SSA technologies, supporting both commercial and government customers. This evolution may enhance Safran DSI's competitive edge amid growing market demands.
