Safran Group Invests €350 Million in New Engine Assembly Line and MRO in Morocco
Safran Group is investing €350 million to establish Africa's first aircraft engine assembly line and a maintenance facility in Morocco. This strategic move aims to enhance the local aerospace industry and support increased production of LEAP engines.

Safran Group plans to invest €350 million in Morocco, establishing an aircraft engine assembly line for LEAP-1A engines and a maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) center. The assembly plant, located in the Midparc Integrated Industrial Zone, will have an annual capacity to assemble 350 engines, operational by the end of 2027, supporting a ramp-up to 2,500 LEAP engines per year by CFM International.
Additionally, a €120 million MRO facility in Casablanca is set to manage about 150 engines annually, starting operations in 2027. Existing operations in Tiflet, Casablanca, and Ain Atiq will also be scaled up by 2026-2027, reflecting Safran's commitment to the Moroccan aerospace sector.
