Saint Kitts and Nevis Government Launches Water Security Exploratory Drilling Programme
The Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis is enhancing its water security strategy with exploratory drilling by a Trinidad and Tobago company. Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew indicated that drilling is underway in Saddlers, with ten sites identified. This initiative complements a $60 million investment in a desalination plant, producing two million gallons of potable water daily, set to be commissioned on February 24. The government aims to ensure consistent water supply and improve national infrastructure.

The Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis is implementing an exploratory drilling programme to enhance its water security, conducted by a company from Trinidad and Tobago. Drilling is currently taking place in Saddlers, with around ten locations targeted for assessment.
This initiative supports a $60 million investment in a desalination plant, which produces two million gallons of potable water per day and will be officially commissioned on February 24. Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew emphasized the government's commitment to a reliable water supply and long-term infrastructure resilience, urging citizens to comply with water bill payments to support the national water system.
