Saint Peter City Council Approves Funding for New Solar Array at City Hall

WATER INFRASTRUCTURE & DESALINATION

The Saint Peter City Council voted to accept $141,180 in grant funding for a solar array at the new city hall, which will produce 39.9 kW. Funding includes $100,926 from the State of Minnesota's Solar on Public Buildings Grant and $43,254 from the Federal Solar Investment Tax Credit.

Construction is planned to start after the spring thaw and aims for completion by fall. This initiative is part of the city's commitment to achieving at least 80% carbon-free energy by 2030, following a previous solar array installation at the wastewater treatment plant in 2024.
