The Saline County Commission adopted a $2.3 million amended lease purchase agreement with Wood and Huston Bank to continue constructing a wastewater treatment system at Marshall Junction. This agreement updates a prior $1.6 million deal that funded initial construction, with 90 percent of the treatment facility complete.
Construction is set to expand to other quadrants by October. Meanwhile, the City of Lima, under a 2014 consent decree with the EPA, has spent approximately $80 million on projects to address deficiencies in its stormwater and wastewater systems. Upcoming upgrades for seven sanitary sewer basins are projected to cost nearly $70 million.
