Salt River Project and Invenergy to Build $209 Million Solar and Battery Storage Facility in Arizona
Salt River Project (SRP) and Invenergy have agreed to construct the SunDog Energy Center, a $209 million solar and battery storage facility in Pinal County, Arizona. The project will provide 200 megawatts of solar power and 200 megawatts of battery storage, enough to supply electricity to approximately 45,000 homes. This initiative aligns with SRP's strategy to expand its power capacity to meet rising energy demands in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

Salt River Project (SRP) and Invenergy have announced an agreement to build the SunDog Energy Center, a $209 million solar and battery storage facility in Pinal County, Arizona. The center will provide 200 megawatts of solar generation and 200 megawatts of four-hour battery storage, enough to power about 45,000 homes.
SRP aims to more than double its power system capacity over the next decade to accommodate rapid population growth in the Phoenix area. This project follows the upcoming completion of SRP's Eleven Mile Solar Center in 2024, which supports 65,000 homes. The SunDog facility will be Invenergy's 17th project in Arizona.
