Samsung SDS-led Consortium Chosen for South Korea's National AI Computing Center Project
The Ministry of Science and ICT of South Korea has selected a consortium led by Samsung SDS as the preferred partner for a national AI computing center project. The consortium includes Naver Cloud, Samsung C&T, Kakao, and Samsung Electronics. The center will be located at the Solaseado Data Center Park in Haenam, South Jeolla Province, and aims to secure 15,000 advanced AI semiconductors by 2028. Negotiations on establishing a special purpose company are expected to conclude by the end of September 2026.

The South Korean Ministry of Science and ICT designated the Samsung SDS-led consortium as the preferred negotiating partner for the national AI computing center project. This consortium, which includes Naver Cloud, Samsung C&T, Kakao, and Samsung Electronics, was the sole bidder in the October 2025 tender.
The center is planned for construction at the Solaseado Data Center Park in Haenam, South Jeolla Province, with the goal of securing 15,000 advanced AI semiconductors by 2028. The government and policy banks aim to finalize negotiations regarding a special purpose company to be jointly established by the end of September 2026.
