San Matías Pipeline Secures $900 Million Financing for Construction
The San Matías Pipeline has obtained a $900 million syndicated loan under Project Finance, part of a $1.3 billion total investment. This pipeline will connect Vaca Muerta operations to a new LNG export terminal in Río Negro, expected to significantly bolster Argentina's global LNG market position.

The San Matías Pipeline project has secured a $900 million syndicated loan, with a total project cost of $1.3 billion, aimed at constructing a 472-kilometer gas pipeline. The financing, structured over seven years with a three-year grace period, involves banks such as Citi, J.P.
Morgan, Santander, and Itaú, along with BBVA and others. Construction is set to begin in August 2026 and conclude by mid-2028. The pipeline will transport 27 million cubic meters of natural gas per day and has received environmental approvals from Neuquén and Río Negro. Southern Energy's two LNG vessels,
