Sandvik to Supply 16 D25KX Drill Rigs to Major Copper Producer in Zambia
Sandvik has secured an order to supply 16 D25KX down-the-hole rotary drill rigs to a leading copper producer in Zambia. The order, booked in 2025, includes remote monitoring services, training, and a year of technical support and spare parts. The delivery of the rigs is scheduled for 2026, enhancing the existing fleet to support a recent mine expansion.

Sandvik has been selected to provide 16 D25KX down-the-hole rotary drill rigs to a major copper producer in Zambia. The order, confirmed in 2025, includes remote monitoring services, training, and 12 months of technical support and spare parts to ensure operational efficiency.
The rigs will be delivered in batches throughout 2026 and will complement an existing fleet of nine Sandvik D25KS and four Pantera DP1500i rigs, which have been in operation since 2016. This new fleet will assist in a mine expansion that includes a new processing plant and smelter upgrades.
