Sanitech has launched a sanitation prototype designed for South Africa's mining sector, focusing on on-site waste treatment to alleviate operational challenges. The unit integrates a wastewater treatment process within a compact cubicle, reducing the need for manual waste removal.

Engineered for underground conditions, it serves about 30 users per day and recycles 70-75% of treated water. The system employs membrane bioreactor technology for effective waste processing and includes remote monitoring capabilities. Sanitech invites mining companies to participate in field testing to adapt the prototype for local conditions and improve worker health and dignity.
