SANParks and Petco Collaborate to Enhance Recycling in Kruger National Park
SANParks has partnered with Petco to improve waste management in Kruger National Park. The initiative aims to enhance recycling efforts, particularly at picnic sites where significant waste is generated by tourists. Petco has supplied specially-designed, durable bins to facilitate waste separation. This collaboration seeks to support a circular economy and improve the park's sustainable waste management practices.

SANParks has entered an agreement with Petco to enhance waste management in Kruger National Park. With approximately 1.8 million annual visitors generating substantial waste, the initiative focuses on improving recycling at picnic sites.
Petco supplied three durable, colour-coded bins to the Tshokwane Picnic Site to aid in separating recyclables. The goal is to ensure uncontaminated materials are recycled effectively, supporting a circular economy. Future plans include expanding the bin project to Nkuhlu and Afsaal Picnic sites, in partnership with Tourvest and Tindlovu.
