Sans3bbie Project Develops Cost-Effective Process to Convert Olive Pomace and Brewer's Grain into Sheep Feed
The Sans3bbie project, in collaboration with the University of Pisa and Azienda Agricola Spinelli, has developed a sustainable process to convert olive pomace and brewer's grain into a nutrient-rich livestock feed. This method offers a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative for small- and medium-scale farms, aiming to reduce feed costs and utilize locally available byproducts.

The Sans3bbie project has created a low-cost process combining olive pomace and brewer's grains into nutrient-rich sheep feed. Developed with the University of Pisa and Azienda Agricola Spinelli, the process utilizes the complementary properties of these byproducts, resulting in a balanced, digestible, and palatable feed.
Funded by the Tuscany Region, the method supports small farms by minimizing logistics and feed costs, achieving an average cost reduction of about 27%. The process is replicable and compatible with existing farm facilities, promoting the circular economy in livestock farming.
