Santa Anita Park has undergone a significant transformation with an $18 million investment, reopening after five years of renovations. Key upgrades include an 8,000-square-foot community center, synthetic turf soccer fields, a renovated basketball court, a swimming pool, a new playground, and expanded parking.
Funding was sourced from local, state, and federal contributions, including $3.1 million from the Cannabis Public Benefit Fund, which supports various community programs. The renovation also incorporates a Santa Ana Police Department substation within the community center, enhancing local safety and engagement. This revitalization may stimulate community involvement and increase usage of public spaces.
