Sapient Intelligence Launches HRM-Text Model to Challenge LLM Standards
Sapient Intelligence introduces HRM-Text, a 1-billion-parameter AI model trained on 40 billion tokens, significantly less than traditional LLMs. This innovation allows for high-performance reasoning without the extensive infrastructure typically required for AI models, potentially reshaping industry standards for efficiency and cost.

Sapient Intelligence has launched HRM-Text, a reasoning language model comprising 1 billion parameters. Unlike traditional LLMs that depend on extensive data centers, HRM-Text operates efficiently with only 40 billion tokens for training, which is up to 1000 times fewer than competitors.
The model can be trained within a day at a cost of approximately $1,000, contrasting with typical expenditures in the hundreds of millions. HRM-Text employs a task-completion training approach and utilizes a unique hierarchical architecture, allowing it to perform competitively across various benchmarks, including 56.2% on MATH and 81.9% on ARC-Challenge. This model's efficiency presents opportunities for sectors like healthcare and finance, where existing transformer models are often cost-prohibitive.
