Saudi Arabia Expands Data Centers with $4.26 Billion Investment
Saudi Arabia has increased its data centers sixfold since launching Vision 2030, committing $4.26 billion to bolster its technology sector. The country aims to establish itself as a regional technology hub amidst rising demand for cloud computing and AI services.

Saudi Arabia currently operates over 60 data centers developed by more than 20 companies, with market revenues projected to reach $2.83 billion by 2030 at a 6.45% annual growth rate. The government plans to develop 1.8 gigawatts of data center capacity by 2030 and 100 gigawatts of AI computing capacity by 2026.
Recent investments have surged, with a 56% increase in government spending for 2024 and $9.1 billion in funding for AI companies. The nation aims to strengthen its global position in AI, housing the UNESCO-supported International Center for Research and Ethics in AI.
Saudi Aramco also plans to establish its first large-scale data center to support its digital transformation strategy. These developments are critical for positioning Saudi Arabia in the future digital economy.
