Since the implementation of Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia's data center sector has expanded significantly, with investments exceeding SR16 billion ($4.26 billion) and a projected market revenue of $2.83 billion by 2030. The growth is attributed to rising demand for cloud computing and artificial intelligence, with an annual expansion rate of 6.45 percent.
The Kingdom aims to establish a data center capacity of 1.8 gigawatts by 2030 and 100 gigawatts of AI compute capacity by 2026. Additionally, AI companies have secured $9.1 billion in funding as government spending on emerging technologies rose by over 56 percent in 2024. Saudi Arabia's initiatives reflect a commitment to ethical AI use and economic diversification.
