The Scottish Government has launched the AI Strategy 2026-2031, establishing the AI Scotland body to address AI adoption, skills, and infrastructure. Notable investments include £750 million for a national supercomputer at the University of Edinburgh and a £1.5 billion infrastructure investment led by CoreWeave.
In addition, Index Ventures invested $25 million in Wordsmith AI, which streamlines legal processes for in-house teams. Initiatives such as 'AI Discovery' and CodeClan's applied agentic AI program aim to link postgraduate talent with industry needs, particularly in healthcare.
