The Empire Wind offshore wind farm's construction is progressing with the arrival of a specialized wind turbine installation vessel (WTIV) from Seatrium in Singapore, set for delivery in March 2026. The project faced interruptions due to political decisions but resumed following legal interventions.

The WTIV, compliant with the Jones Act, is designed to improve installation efficiency for large turbines and will utilize a feeder model to operate efficiently in U.S. waters. Seatrium's vessel is intended for both U.S. offshore wind projects and international applications.
