SECI Focuses on Storage-Backed Renewable Energy and Green Molecules Development
The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) is shifting its focus towards storage-backed renewable energy solutions and green molecules. SECI has issued Letters of Award for nearly 75 GW of renewable energy capacity, with 36 GW deployed, contributing 15% to India's renewable energy capacity. Tariffs have decreased significantly from Rs 8-10 to Rs 2-3 per unit. SECI is also exploring green ammonia, with the lowest global price of Rs 49.75 per kg, and plans to bid for 500,000 tonnes of green methanol for the maritime sector.
