SECL Pursues Joint Ventures with Chhattisgarh Government for Floating Solar and Coal Gasification Projects

South Eastern Coalfields Ltd. (SECL) is exploring joint ventures with the Chhattisgarh government for floating solar and coal gasification projects. SECL aims for 626 MW of solar energy capacity by FY2027-28.
Ongoing discussions with Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited (CSPGCL) focus on floating solar projects. The gasification joint venture is in conceptual stages, with the state incentivizing coal gasification initiatives. SECL plans to invest ₹4,000 crore in capital expenditure this year, while also looking for critical minerals in closed mines.
