Sejong City to Distribute KRW 14 Billion in Zero-Emission Vehicle Subsidies Starting February 2
Sejong Special Self-Governing City will accept applications for zero-emission vehicle purchase subsidies starting February 2, aiming to reduce fine dust and greenhouse gases. The budget for this year is KRW 14 billion, targeting the distribution of 1,283 vehicles, including 1,227 electric and 56 hydrogen vehicles, a 2.5-fold increase from last year.
The distribution plan includes 1,138 electric passenger vehicles, 60 electric cargo vehicles, 9 electric buses, 20 electric motorcycles, 30 hydrogen passenger vehicles, and 26 hydrogen buses. Up to 70% of the subsidies will be allocated in the first half of the year.
Electric passenger vehicles are eligible for subsidies up to 7.54 million won, with an additional 1.3 million won for converting from internal combustion vehicles. Eligibility extends to residents and businesses in Sejong for 60 days or more, with priority for certain groups. Applications will be first-come, first-served.
