For the fiscal year 2026/27, Selwyn Water Ltd anticipates average household water bills will rise to $1,831, reflecting an 18% increase. The company plans to allocate $15.758 million for water network upgrades and $24.194 million for wastewater growth projects, responding to rising demand and regulatory requirements.
The expected unit price of water will increase to $1.48 per cubic meter, up from $1.25. The strategy emphasizes the necessity of investment to maintain service reliability and support district growth, with the board set to finalize the water services strategy following public consultation until June 1.
