Sens. Ted Budd and Joni Ernst introduced the Abraham Accords Defense Cooperation Act to enhance defense collaboration among signatories of the Abraham Accords, focusing on countering Iranian aggression. The act aims to authorize joint military exercises, intelligence sharing, and regional defense projects among the U.S., Israel, and the Arab nations that normalized relations with Israel. The proposal seeks to be included in this year's National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), highlighting the increasing security challenges from Iran.

The Abraham Accords Defense Cooperation Act, introduced by Senators Ted Budd and Joni Ernst, aims to enhance defense cooperation between nations signatory to the Abraham Accords as tensions with Iran rise. The act instructs the Pentagon to implement defense and intelligence-sharing plans with Bahrain, the UAE, Morocco, Sudan, and Kazakhstan.
It focuses on joint military exercises, regional planning, and countering threats from Iran. If passed into the NDAA, the Secretary of War will have 60 days to outline objectives and budget. The legislation seeks to strengthen regional partnerships amid increasing attacks from Iran against Gulf states.
