SEPTA Launches Phase 1 of New Bus Network with Major Route Changes
SEPTA will implement Phase 1 of its New Bus Network on August 23-24, featuring two new routes, six extensions, and seven eliminations. This initial phase follows Board approval of the FY27 Annual Service Plan and affects numerous bus and metro services, requiring riders to consult updated timetables.

Beginning August 23-24, SEPTA will launch Phase 1 of its New Bus Network, introducing two new routes and six extensions, alongside the discontinuation of seven routes: 35, 47M, 62, 78, 80, 89, and 106. Route 72 will connect Frankford Transit Center to Cedarbrook Plaza, while Route 76 will link Columbus Commons to Olney-Rising Sun Loop, both operating every 30 minutes.
Existing routes will also see extensions, including Route 45 to the Navy Yard and Route 79 to 40th Street. Passengers can utilize the New Bus Network Trip Planner to preview journeys post-implementation. Challenges may arise for riders due to simultaneous schedule changes, necessitating close attention to updated information.
