Seriti Green Invests R25 Billion in Mpumalanga's Clean Energy Transition
Seriti Green has committed R25 billion to renewable energy projects in Mpumalanga, supporting South Africa's Just Energy Transition. This investment will facilitate job creation and enhance the province's energy diversification from coal to renewables.

Seriti Green's R25 billion investment in Mpumalanga focuses on renewable energy infrastructure, shifting the region from coal dependency. The investment includes a phased strategy with R5 billion for initial development, R15 billion for ongoing projects, and an additional R10 billion announced at the South Africa Investment Conference on 31 March 2026.
The Ummbila Emoyeni project, set to be the largest hybrid renewable energy cluster in South Africa, aims to deliver over 900 MW through five wind farms, one solar PV facility, and a battery storage system. Job creation is significant; 1200 jobs have been created, with projections of 2000 as development progresses.
The investment also involves constructing Mpumalanga's largest transmission substation in over two decades, enhancing grid capacity for renewable energy integration. About one third of the generated electricity will decarbonise Seriti Resources' mining operations, while the rest will be available for market trade, boosting energy access.
