Sewage Treatment Plant Headworks Upgrade Nearing Completion
The headworks upgrade at a city's wastewater treatment plant, funded by a $1.2 million federal grant, is set for completion by summer 2025. Future capacity enhancements for the entire treatment plant are projected to cost up to $50 million.

The wastewater treatment plant's headworks upgrade will be finalized by summer 2025, utilizing a $1.2 million federal ARPA grant administered by ADEM. Taylor Corporation submitted the lowest bid of $4.9 million for the project, within the city's $5 million budget for this fiscal year.
Subsequently, capacity enhancements for the treatment facility are planned, with phase 2 currently in the design stage and estimated to cost as much as $50 million. This upgrade is essential for increasing treatment capacity, addressing future wastewater demands, and improving overall efficiency.
