The annual operational cost of Seznam.cz's data centers is approximately 200 million CZK. In the 2024 financial year, revenues from these centers reached 193.5 million CZK. Energy and materials account for the largest expenses, totaling 133.7 million CZK.
Seznam's energy consumption and computational power are expected to grow due to ongoing investments in energy-intensive Nvidia AI chips, used for their language model SeLLM. To enhance energy capacity, Seznam is constructing solar power plants, including a 1 MW facility in Nagoja expected to be operational by May or June 2025.
Additionally, the company anticipates obtaining certification for a pilot motor generator at the Kokura data center in early 2025 and plans to certify three more generators later in the year. To support the expected growth in infrastructure for large language models, Seznam aims to complete a second hall at the Nagoja data center, adding 1.5 MW for IT equipment.
