SGC Energy to Build 300MW Data Center in Gunsan, South Korea
SGC Energy plans to construct a 300MW data center in Gunsan, South Korea, marking its entry into the AI data center sector. The project will involve KT and Mirae Asset Securities, and will be located at Gunsan National Industrial Complex 2 on 100,000 sq ft of land owned by SGC Green Power. The first phase will consist of a 40MW modular data center, with construction starting later this year and operations expected to begin in Q1 2028.

SGC Energy will build a 300MW data center in Gunsan, South Korea, in collaboration with KT and Mirae Asset Securities. The facility will be located at Gunsan National Industrial Complex 2 on 100,000 sq ft of land owned by SGC Green Power.
The initial development phase will include a 40MW modular data center, with construction starting later this year. SGC Energy anticipates that operations will commence in Q1 2028. Both SGC Green Power and SGC Energy are subsidiaries of OCI Group, a South Korean chemicals company.
