Shantou Achieves China's First Closed-Loop Token Export Verification
Shantou has successfully completed the first full-chain closed-loop verification for token exports, a significant milestone for China's AI and computing sectors. This process allows high-value-added digital services to be exported, utilizing advanced data centers and compliant cross-border data transfer methods.
On April 22, Shantou achieved a milestone by completing a closed-loop verification encompassing offshore data centers, token generation, and compliant cross-border data transmission. The process involves data being transmitted through compliant channels to a designated processing zone, where LLM inference occurs before the results are sent overseas.
The cost for one kilowatt-hour of electricity domestically is approximately 0.5 yuan, but when converted into export tokens, the value increases to about 11 yuan, reflecting a 22-fold increase. Infrastructure supporting this system includes the Shantou International Submarine Cable Landing Station with three international optical cables, aimed at minimizing latency. Power reliability is ensured by a dual supply and circuit system from the local power bureau, while offshore wind farms contribute green energy to the operation.
