The Town of Shelburne is undertaking a $46 million consolidation project for its wastewater treatment facilities, expected to take three years to complete. The initiative, which has been planned for 13 years, will merge two existing plants into a single, upgraded facility to improve treatment systems and energy efficiency.
Funding sources include a $38 million bond approved by voters in 2024, alongside $13 million in grants from Vermont's Pollution Control program and $1 million from the Northern Border Regional Commission. This project is critical for enhancing water quality and supporting local economies.
