Shumate Engineering Expands with 16 New AI Data Centers Across Texas, Missouri, and Arizona
Shumate Engineering is designing 16 new hyperscale data centers with a total of 5.7 gigawatts of processing power in Texas, Missouri, and Arizona. Set for completion by mid-2026, this expansion enhances AI access in the U.S. and marks significant growth for the Virginia-based firm as it enters its sixth year. The company is also hiring key personnel to support its nationwide pipeline, capitalizing on a patented cooling design that significantly reduces energy and water usage.

Shumate Engineering is expanding its design portfolio with 16 new hyperscale AI data centers totaling approximately 5.7 gigawatts, located in Texas, Missouri, and Arizona. These facilities are expected to be completed by mid-2026, contributing to enhanced AI access in the U.S.
The firm, based in Virginia, is entering its sixth year and is hiring additional engineers to support its national growth. Last year, Shumate was granted a patent for a hybrid-dry/adiabatic-cooling design that can reduce power consumption by 50% and water use by 93% compared to conventional systems. This growth aligns with the increasing demand in the data center industry.
