Shyam Metalics Launches ₹800 Crore Aluminium Foil Plant in Odisha
Shyam Metalics has commenced production at its new 18,000 TPA aluminium foil plant in Odisha, representing a significant step in its strategy to enhance its presence in high-value aluminium products. The expansion is projected to increase the company's revenue by 2 to 2.5 times and improve margins significantly over the coming years.

Shyam Metalics has initiated commercial production at its new aluminium foil plant in Sambalpur, Odisha, with an installed capacity of 18,000 tonnes per annum (TPA). The investment for this facility and an upcoming Aluminium Flat Rolled Products (FRP) plant, which is set to begin operations by September 2026 with a capacity of 60,000 TPA, totals approximately ₹800 crore.
The FRP plant will produce aluminium sheets and coils with thicknesses ranging from 0.3 mm to 4 mm. This expansion is aimed at meeting increasing domestic demand, reducing import reliance, and aligning with national initiatives such as Make in India.
Shyam Metalics targets significant revenue growth and aims to become a major player in the aluminium and stainless steel markets, with a focus on maximizing margins and employment opportunities in Odisha. Potential risks include market competition and demand fluctuations.
