Siemens and ADT Develop Rapid Design Workflow for Micro Gas Turbines
Siemens and ADT have collaborated to create a streamlined design process for Micro Gas Turbines (MGTs) aimed at emergency power generation. This integrated workflow significantly reduces development time from months to days, enhancing readiness for critical infrastructure needs.

Siemens and Advanced Design Technology (ADT) have introduced a rapid design workflow for Micro Gas Turbines (MGTs) for emergency standby power generation. Utilizing Siemens Simcenter Amesim and TURBOdesign Suite, the process encompasses system sizing, 3D blade design, and multi-domain co-simulation.
The design workflow begins by defining mission profiles in Amesim, which informs the compressor design in TURBOdesign Pre. The system then calculates optimal turbine stages to meet power requirements efficiently.
This integrated approach enhances the ability to deliver critical power solutions for facilities like hospitals and data centers, reducing potential operational disruptions. The collaboration highlights the importance of rapid response capabilities in maintaining infrastructure resilience against power interruptions.
