Siemens and Mescada Launch AI-Ready Cloud-Based SCADA for GPGA's Renewable Energy in Australia
Siemens, in partnership with Mescada, is deploying a cloud-based SCADA system for Global Power Generation Australia (GPGA). The system will connect eight renewable energy sites across Australia, enhancing real-time monitoring and control capabilities. It will facilitate a future integration with the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) and support GPGA's growth from 1.4 GW to 3 GW in renewable energy capacity.

Siemens and Mescada are implementing a cloud-based SCADA system for Global Power Generation Australia (GPGA), which has 1 GW of operational capacity from wind, solar, and battery storage. The system, based on Simatic WinCC Open Architecture, will connect eight renewable energy assets across New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia, and the Australian Capital Territory using 300,000 data tags.
It aims to provide centralized monitoring from Canberra and will integrate with the Australian Energy Market Operator in a future phase. This project supports GPGA's expansion from 1.4 GW to 3 GW and includes generative AI for operational assistance.
