Sigenergy Becomes Leading Home Battery Supplier in Australia, Surpassing Tesla

ENERGY STORAGE

Sigenergy achieved a 25% market share in the Australian home battery market by March 2025, having launched in 2022 and debuted its first products in 2023. The company saw its market share rise from 17.4% to 31.4% within months, outperforming competitors like Sungrow and Tesla's Powerwall.

In 2024, Sigenergy shipped 475 MWh globally, capturing 28.6% of the distributed energy storage market. The company's growth was supported by a federal battery rebate scheme initiated in July 2024. However, it faced challenges with a product recall in November 2024 due to overheating issues. Sigenergy's batteries utilize lithium iron phosphate chemistry and are stackable up to 48kWh.
