Silga Upgrades Data Center with AXOL's Proxmox Solution
Silga S.p.A. modernized its data center using AXOL's support, transitioning to a hyper-converged infrastructure with Proxmox, achieving estimated implementation cost savings of 50%. This upgrade enhances computing power, integrates disaster recovery, and prepares Silga for international security certifications like ISO 27001.

In 2024, Silga S.p.A., a 50-year-old Italian company, revamped its data center, shifting from a heterogeneous VMware and Hyper-V architecture to a hyper-converged infrastructure based on Proxmox VE. The project, supported by AXOL Server, involved a complete redesign rather than just hardware upgrades, resulting in a 50% cost reduction compared to other market options.
The new 5-node architecture improves business continuity, allowing Silga to meet ISO 27001 and TISAX certification standards. The migration included virtualizing existing legacy systems, enhancing performance, especially for remote desktop users. The old hardware is repurposed for a disaster recovery site, ensuring robust operational resilience.
