Sindh Government Approves Rs 5 Billion for Karachi Wastewater Treatment Projects

The Sindh government has approved Rs 5 billion for wastewater treatment and recycling in Karachi, aiming for significant improvements in the sewage system by the end of 2023. An interim target has been set to treat 30-35 million gallons per day (MGD) by June 30, with the full operational capacity of 100 MGD for TP-1 expected by December 31.
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah stressed that wastewater management is a priority, with results anticipated by 2025. The TP-4 project is considered vital, and authorities were instructed to expedite processes. Full government support has been assured for the completion of TP-1 by December 2025.
