Singapore to Establish National Space Agency on April 1 to Enhance Space Capabilities
Singapore will launch the National Space Agency of Singapore (NSAS) on April 1 to enhance its space capabilities and capitalize on the growing space economy. The agency will assist in satellite operations and geospatial data analytics, with a focus on applications in urban planning and environmental monitoring. With over S$200 million allocated for space research and development since 2022, NSAS aims to strengthen Singapore's satellite infrastructure and establish regulatory frameworks for the space sector.

Singapore will establish the National Space Agency of Singapore (NSAS) on April 1 to develop and operate its space capabilities and seize opportunities in the expanding space economy. The agency will support government agencies with satellite tasking and geospatial data analytics, applicable to port operations, urban planning, and environmental monitoring.
NSAS aims to enhance Singapore's satellite constellation, ensure space safety, and develop national legislation for the space sector. The government has allocated over S$200 million for space R&D since 2022, focusing on technologies such as satellite remote sensing for carbon monitoring and microgravity research. Currently, 70 space companies operate in Singapore, which has launched over 30 satellites in the past two decades.
