SK Eternix Launches 40MW SOFC Power Plant at Chungju Eco Park
SK Eternix has launched a 40MW solid oxide fuel cell power plant at Chungju Eco Park, which will generate approximately 330 GWh of electricity annually, enough to power about 94,000 households. The facility, part of a 271 billion won investment, increases the company's total fuel cell capacity to 129MW, with additional projects underway in Daesowon and Paju. This initiative underscores SK Eternix's commitment to expanding its renewable energy portfolio, including solar, wind, and energy storage systems.

SK Eternix has commenced commercial operations at the Chungju Eco Park, a 40MW solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) power plant located in the Chungju Megalopolis General Industrial Complex, North Chungcheong Province. The facility, costing 271 billion won, utilizes 120 Bloom Energy ES 6.5 fuel cells and is expected to generate approximately 330 GWh of electricity annually, sufficient to power around 94,000 households.
With this launch, SK Eternix's total fuel cell power plant capacity increases to 129MW, including previous projects in Cheongju, Eumseong, Chilgok, Yakmok, and Boeun. Additionally, the 40MW Daesowon Eco Park is set to begin operations in the first half of next year, and Paju Eco Green Energy, with a capacity of 31MW, is also preparing for commercial launch. SK Eternix is advancing its renewable energy portfolio, which includes solar, wind, and energy storage systems.
