SK Telecom Partners with Supermicro for Global AI Data Center Initiative
SK Telecom has entered a collaboration with Supermicro to develop a global AI data center business, formalized at Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona. Supermicro will provide servers for SK Telecom's AI data centers, which will incorporate AI technology into communication networks. The partnership also includes the integration of AI chips from SK Telecom subsidiary Sapeon. Additionally, SK Telecom's investment in GPU cloud company Lambda aims to enhance its AI data center capabilities.

SK Telecom is collaborating with Supermicro to establish a global AI data center business, formalized during the Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona. Supermicro will supply servers for SK Telecom’s AI data centers, which will integrate AI into communication networks.
They will also work on using AI chips from Sapeon Korea, a subsidiary of SK Telecom, in these servers. Furthermore, SK Telecom has invested in GPU cloud company Lambda to secure GPU resources for its AI initiatives and plans to form a strategic partnership with Lambda for global operations by mid-2024.
