Skyroot Aerospace Aims for Global Top-Five Launch Provider Status
Skyroot Aerospace is targeting a top-five position in the global launch market, focusing on in-house technology development and scalability. With a recent $60 million funding round, the company seeks to enhance its capabilities and expand production, establishing Vikram-1 as a commercially viable launch vehicle.

Skyroot Aerospace is preparing for the maiden launch of its Vikram-1 rocket while aiming to become one of the top global launch service providers. The company has vertically integrated critical technologies including propulsion and avionics, utilizing lightweight carbon-fibre composites and 3D-printed engines to optimize performance and reduce development time.
Skyroot expects to produce one Vikram-1 rocket monthly from its Hyderabad facilities. The roadmap includes Vikram-2, a one-tonne-class launcher set for 2027, and a fully reusable launch vehicle. The firm raised $60 million in 2023, reaching a valuation of $1.1 billion, and is positioned to support India's growing space economy. The successful development of its rockets hinges on attracting specialized talent and overcoming initial funding challenges.
