Slovenia Opens €32 Million Zero-Carbon Technology Hub in Zasavje

Slovenia has inaugurated a €32 million technology centre in Kisovec, dedicated to zero-carbon innovations, marking a pivotal investment in the green transition. This facility spans over 1,500 square meters and features advanced laboratories, a pilot assembly line for battery cells, and research capabilities for hydrogen technology.
It is the first project in Slovenia to receive support from the EU's Just Transition Fund, aimed at aiding regions in moving away from fossil fuels. The centre is expected to play a crucial role in fostering regional development and facilitating faster commercialization of new technologies, enhancing Slovenia's and Europe's climate goals. Its unique offerings are anticipated to attract regional investments, potentially reducing reliance on foreign research facilities.
