Slovenia Opens Artificial Intelligence Factory with Next-Gen Supercomputer
Slovenia has launched the Slovenian Artificial Intelligence Factory (SLAIF), featuring a next-generation supercomputer, aimed at enhancing competitiveness and technological excellence. Prime Minister Robert Golob highlighted the importance of integrating expert knowledge into the economy, making the system accessible to industry and potentially to citizens for a national generative AI platform. The project is co-financed by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation and the European Commission, with the supercomputer expected to replace the EuroHPC Vega system by 2027.

Slovenia inaugurated the Slovenian Artificial Intelligence Factory (SLAIF), which will host a next-generation supercomputer, on February 9. This initiative, led by Prime Minister Robert Golob, aims to enhance the country's competitiveness and technological capabilities by making advanced computing accessible to industry.
The project is co-financed by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation and the European Commission through EuroHPC JU. The new supercomputer is set to replace the existing EuroHPC Vega system by 2027, facilitating innovation and boosting Slovenia's global competitiveness.
