SLR and Google Expand Environmental Initiatives and Infrastructure Investments in Appalachia and Alabama
SLR leads the Appalachian Methane Initiative to measure methane emissions across 32,000 square miles. Google announces a $1.5 billion investment in Jackson County, Alabama, to expand its data center and support local infrastructure and energy efficiency programs.

SLR is managing the Appalachian Methane Initiative, focusing on methane emissions across 32,000 square miles, involving over 6,000 oil and gas sites and 180 coal and landfill facilities. The initiative aims to quantify methane emissions from oil, gas, and non-oil and gas sources, enhancing understanding of emission sources.
Concurrently, Google plans a $1.5 billion investment in Jackson County, Alabama, to expand its data center campus, enhancing local energy infrastructure and affordability. This initiative includes a $2 million Energy Impact Fund for local families and a commitment to cover all power costs for its operations. Both projects reflect a broader trend of industries investing in local communities and sustainability efforts.
